Why to configure task types?
Task types encode the industry best practices on how to innovation, e.g. the task "User Interview" enables users do an effective user interview.
NEXT contains those best practices out of the box and continuously improves them. This brings - and keeps - users at the forefront of the science of innovation.
Yet, there are scenarios where industry best practices don't apply to your organization - or where you have complementary best practices that you want to roll out with the industry best practices. For those situations, you can configure NEXT's standard task types.
Example use cases
These are common use cases to configure task types:
- Add organization-specific hints. Example: Your organization requires a sign off from Account Managers before talking to any customers. For this, configure a note to the User Interview task type.
- Hide task types that aren't applicable. Example: Your organization produces products for space shuttles. As it's unfeasible to observe users during space travel, you can hide the task type "Wild Safari".
How to configure task types
You can configure task types in the "Customization" section of the Administration app.
