The initial sensing and visioning tasks ask you to collect as many outcomes as possible. Stickers help you to focus on the outcomes that really matter within the dozens of collected insights, user needs, and ideas. Stickers ease going deeper on relevant outcomes and help you to select your key finding in the end of sensing and visioning (Creative Question mission and Bright Stars & Solar Systems mission).
Each project member should individually review all outcomes and then assign its stickers.
Types of stickers
There are two types of stickers:
- Surprising : Attach a surprising sticker to outcomes that you hadn't considered at all at the start of the project. Things that are, well, surprising. For example: Sending your users a thank-you email is standard practice. Buying newspaper ads to place thank-you messages is a surprising idea.
- Strong : Attach a strong sticker to outcomes that will have a deep impact on many users. For example: You interviewed one person who needs all realtime notifications printed out. Although this might have a deep impact on this specific person, very few other people will have the same user need.
Stickers can be attached to user needs and insights (Sensing) and ideas (Visioning).
You gain new stickers by posting more outcomes. Click the stickers icon in the project toolbar to see how many additional outcomes you have to collect until the new sticker:
Stickers are granted on a team level. For example: If you post new outcomes, not only you will gain new stickers but also all your project members.
Stickers are phase-specific to provide you with the optimal number of stickered outcomes during each phase. For example: Once you move from Sensing to Visioning, your surprising and strong stickers are set back to zero, and you can collect new stickers. You will see your Sensing stickers again when setting back your project to Sensing.
You will find your available stickers in the toolbar of your project (in the example, the user has 4 stickers available):
To assign a sticker, open the outcome by clicking it in the outcomes lister. Then click the surprising/strong icon on the bottom of the outcome's detail page:
You can only add stickers when your project is in the phase of the outcome. For example: You can only assign stickers to user needs and insights while the project is in Sensing.
If you run out of stickers, you can gain new stickers by posting more outcomes or by removing stickers from other outcomes. To remove a sticker, open the outcome and click again the surprising/strong icon:
